3ds Max, Motion Builder Kinect Workflow and Kinect SDK

Hopefully with the release of  the Kinect SDK from Microsoft this Spring Motion Capture on your favorite animation program will become ubiquitous.

Autodesk Academic to Commercial Upgrade

Autodesk 3ds Max Student UpgradeAutodesk has an Academic to Commercial license upgrade for 3ds Max, Maya, Motionbuilder, Softimage and 3ds Max Design,  which allows owners of a perpetual student license to upgrade to a full commercial license for only $1300 (msrp) A better price is available on our website. This is a little known upgrade available from Autodesk, and is a great way for graduating students to upgrade for a reasonable cost.

In 2010 Autodesk is making download the default method for delivering your software upgrades.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU WILL NOT AUTOMATICALLY RECEIVE A BOXED SHIPMENT WITH A CD/DVD WHEN YOUR UPGRADE RELEASES.

If you prefer a CD/DVD, you may set your delivery preference to “box” by signing in to Subscription Center and updating your profile.

To receive boxed media for your new software upgrade, listed in your subscription account follow these steps.
