Running Previous Versions of Autodesk Software

One thing customers frequently ask about is whether they are allowed to run an earlier version than the current one., and if so - how do you get a serial number? Maybe you want to finish a current project on the version it was started on, or have a plug-in that hasn't been updated, or a script that needs to be converted.

Our answer is simple:  Subscription, Subscription, Subscription!

Autodesk Subscription Exclusive License Terms

Only Subscription members are entitled to use previous versions of  Autodesk software concurrently with their current version.  Essentially Subscription customers simply login to their subscritpion center, and request a previous version serial number,  media, and so on.  There is a wizard that will step you through the process.  If you have your original software and serial number of your previous version, which has been kept on subscription, install software as you normally would. Note: You will be limited to the number of seats you already own and are current with subscription.  If you haven't, the wizard will prompt you with the option of getting a previous serial number assigned to you.  You can run previous versions of 3ds Max, Maya, Softimage, Motionbuilder, or Mudbox
