Nuke maintenance releases 6.1v4 and 6.2v2




The NUKE team have been hard at work and this week have not one, but two maintenance releases for you.


All new versions are FREE to customers on valid maintenance.

NUKE & NUKEX 6.1v4


This is maintenance release.  FurnaceCore in NukeX 6.1v4 has been updated to v4.3v4 and multi-view EXR writing is significantly faster. Numerous other bugs have also been fixed.


NUKE & NUKEX 6.2v2


Nuke & NukeX 6.2v2 instates user preference as to whether or not to use #### in the file browser.
Quicktime codecs are now configurable and LIN and LOG have been added to the sRGB LUTs in Framecycler.  Several other bugs have also been fixed.

Tron Now and Then wih Digital Domain at the LA Chapter of SIGGRAPH January 21



Twenty-eight years ago when the Los Angeles SIGGRAPH Chapter was formed, the first presentation was on TRON. Join the artists at Digital Domain as they discuss the new installment in the story of code writer Flynn. Also, present will be visual effects artists from the 1982 TRON. Two panels will compare and contrast the evolution of the effects employed in this highly successful franchise.

The 2009 Motion Graphic Design Census questionnaire was written by Jake Sargeant and Bran Dougherty-Johnson. The survey was hosted online at Motionographer.com in December of 2009. The results were analyzed by Bran Dougherty-Johnson in 2010.

Movie Magic

Just thought I'd post this old school video that I found of the tv show "Movie Magic". It is basically a tv version of the cinefx magazine. I really wish there was still a show like this one on tv, it's always interesting to see how different shops and artists work.  Enjoy!

cebas develops 3D Stereo conversion software with Pixel Magic

cebasVisual Technology Inc. with the well known visual effects house Pixel Magic have agreed to develop advanced software and workflows that are already being used for converting “Harry Potter” to 3D Stereo. The technology was successfully pioneered for the major studio on “The Chronicles of Narnia – The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”.
